About the Creator
Hi, I’m the heart behind Otto the OTter Autism! With a background in occupational therapy and a passion for supporting developmental growth, my mission is to provide parents and caregivers with the knowledge and tools they need to succeed. My role is to simplify complex sensory strategies and make them accessible, empowering you to support your child's unique needs with confidence and joy. Whether through our community hub or mobile app, I'm here to walk alongside you every step of the way.
Laurie is a dedicated occupational therapist based in Georgia. She began her academic journey with an Associate of Science in Allied Health from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Education, concentrating in Exercise Science and Wellness with a minor in Psychology, from Georgia Southwestern State University. Laurie continued her graduate studies at Brenau University, where she obtained a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy, and later earned her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina.
Laurie is an experienced occupational therapist working in an ouptatient pediatric clinic, where she provides specialized care for children with a variety of developmental and neurological conditions, including ADHD/ADD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, sensory processing disorders, and other developmental delays. She also extends her expertise to the school system, supporting students with developmental challenges through individualized therapy that promotes success in both academic and social settings.
